I started feeling like trying something different with my hair on a whim one day. You know that feeling you get when what you have is tired and you just need something different to make you feel better?

Yeah, that part.

This clearly meant going through Pinterest and doing tons of research. That’s always the first step to picking out a new hairstyle. I suddenly had a desire to do goddess locs and I finally said, “why not?”

I looked up youtube tutorials of goddess locs. I watched different styles, i looked at crochet, goddess locs with marley hair or kanekalon hair. I finally decided all the styles I liked were with marley hair because, in my opinion, it looked way more natural and lasted longer than crochet or kanekalon.

I had to send pictures to my circle of people. Not just yes men, but people who would be real with me and tell me if I looked like a potato with certain styles. My mother said she couldn’t see me with it or liking it herself. My boyfriend said he liked it and wanted to see how it turned out. My friends, always the enthusiasts, said I should “just go for it since I don’t do anything different. ever.”

So I did it. And honestly, I liked the look. Unfortunately, I was traveling a lot so I couldn’t keep them in, but it was one of my favorite hairstyles I’ve done recently.

I had my roommate help me by doing it, but we used 3 packs FreeTress braiding hair and 2 packs of Marley Hair. We bought at least one more of each pack of hair though, just to be safe. We bought a crochet hook and went to work.

The finished result probably took about 5 hours. It looked sooo much nicer than anything I could’ve done on my own so shout out to my roommate because she did THAT.
